Scholarship Descriptions

UFM Youth Scholarship Fund
UFM Youth Scholarships are made possible by a contribution from Little Apple Pilot Club in Manhattan. Scholarships are available for qualified youth to participate in any eligible UFM activity.

UFM Adult Scholarships

Roger Trenary Tennis and Education Fund Scholarship
The Roger Trenary Tennis and Education Fund at the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation provides scholarships to qualified youth interested in learning about tennis. Several Manhattan tennis enthusiasts endowed the fund to encourage and support young people learning about and becoming involved in a sport that can provide them lifelong benefits and pleasure. Earnings from the fund have supported after-school, summer, and other programs to give basic tennis instruction to school children. UFM provides the screening for these scholarships as well.

Scholarships for Military Families
UFM has been granted funds from Our Community Spouse Club (OCSC) at Fort Riley to allow military dependents receive scholarships for any UFM activity.

Qualifications & Application Process

Those wishing to receive a scholarship need to complete a one page application indicating the class or activity, reason for requesting the scholarship and their annual income level. UFM staff will review the application, determine eligibility, availability of scholarship funds and issue a voucher for the amount of the scholarship being awarded.

Scholarships will cover up to 50% of the activity fee or a maximum of $100, as long as funds are available. Lesser amounts might be given as funds diminish. Income eligibility is determined using WIC guidelines or 185% of the federal poverty level.
